Photo Gallery: Om Prakash – Mandalas, 10th of Jun 2017

The Museum of Sacred Art (MOSA) in Radhadesh, Belgium, is exhibiting the works of famous Indian mandala painter Om Prakash Sharma, whose meeting with Srila Prabhupada left an impact on him. Now 85 years old, Om Prakash has had a long and productive career including serving as Dean at the Delhi College of Art for over a decade. He met Srila Prabhupada at Dr. Mishra’s yoga studio in New York City on December 15th, 1965 – before ISKCON was incorporated. Om Prakash was in New York on a scholarship with Columbia University, while Prabhupada was experiencing his first winter in the Big Apple.

"The Many Colors of Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami" opened on Sat. 28. Jan 2017, during the Radhadesh Mellows festival. Both the two exhibition spaces of  the MOSA at Radhadesh are now full of Satsvarupa Maharaja's works, and MOSA also produced a full color catalog featuring a foreword by Mahaprabhu Dasa (Martin Gurvich), the director of the museum, and writings by Satyaraja dasa (Steven J. Rosen) as well as Satswarupa dasa Goswami himself, writing about his own creative process. Sacinandana Swami also attended the opening along with many excited visitors appreciating Goswami's unique art.

The prospect of inaugurating the 2014 art exhibits at MOSA with such outstanding, accomplished artists as Shobha Broota, Raghupati Bhat, and Poosapati Parameshwar Raju fills me with profound joy. Bahl, who has written the texts about all three artists.
